Remembering Brian Morrissey

Brian Morrissey October 9, 1940 to May 18, 2023
It is with a heavy heart to announce the passing of Brian Morrissey. Brian's life was adventurous and touched many people. Brian was a very courageous Showman who was not afraid of change. He held many positions and traveled throughout the country, working with many amusement-related companies.
His list of accomplishments includes:
Brian was a lifelong friend of Frank Briggs, Robert's father Brian and Frank had many exciting shared experiences over the years, booking Evel Knievel, Jerry Lee Lewis, and many others at the Chicago Amphitheater.
Brian was a past President of the Miami Showmens Association. He served the US Army, was a long-time member of the Georgia Fair Association, and a Shrine Club Member, He was also a member for over 50-years of the Showmen's League of America.
Brian is survived by his wife Rita, and sons Mark, Brent, Robbie, and Cole Morrissey.
Brian will be missed by the Briggs family, Modern Midways staff, crew, sponsors, and all that knew him.

A Wake will be held at Caballero Rivero Woodlawn South & Woodlawn Park Cemetery South (11655 SW 117TH Ave, Miami, FL 33186) on Friday, May 26 from 9:30am until 2pm. Burial to follow.

- Managed Pioneer Park in Aurora, IL
- Old Chicago Amusement Park in Bolingbrook, IL
- Brookfield Zoo in Chicago, IL
- Managed Bolo Island Amusement Park
- Operated rides at the World's Fair in Knoxville, Tn
- Underwater Atlantis Park in Hollywood,Fl
- Managed the Bingo concessions for the Seminole Indian Tribe of Florida
- Monkey Jungle in Miami
- He booked many Shows and Circuses, including Zabelle Shows, Ken Detty's Funtastic Midways, Baron Von Uhl's Wild Animal Circus, Hollingsworth Circus, and most recently worked hand in hand with Robert Briggs of Modern Midways for 25 years as General Agent, handling the Southern office for the show.
