November 29th, 2023] – Price Chopper Inc., a global pioneer in the wristband and identification market, today announces the full retirement of its founding chairman, Jefferson Sooknarine. This noteworthy event marks the culmination of an era that has seen our company flourish under his visionary leadership.

Jeff, having previously embraced a semi-retired lifestyle, has now decided to fully retire, closing one chapter while opening another filled with well-deserved rest and new opportunities. His journey from active leadership, through semi-retirement, to this point of full retirement, has been an inspiration for us all.

Under Jeff's guidance, Price Chopper Inc. has carved out a significant place in the market, setting standards of excellence in quality and service. Even during his period of semi-retirement, Jeff's influence was palpable, demonstrating his enduring commitment to the company he so passionately built.

As we bid adieu to our charismatic founding chairman, we express our deepest gratitude for Jeff's invaluable contributions and wish him the best in his retirement.

The company will continue to be led by Shara Pathak who has been President since 2004. Under Shara's leadership, Price Chopper Inc. has weathered various industry challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic. Her ability to adapt and innovate during these times demonstrates her resilient leadership. 

Shara's vision for the Group goes beyond sustaining its current success. She will continue her work of propelling the company to new heights, through continuous Innovation and Strategic Partnerships. Nyla Sooknarine, Co-founder and Co-owner of Price Chopper Inc., will continue in her semi-retired capacity as VP of Finance and Internal Auditor.
