Jo Weaver, of Interstate Amusements of America, Passes
It's said that "Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life" & in that sense, Jo Bernie was a radiant soul. She made every room brighter, whether with her beaming smile, through her remarkable art or in her comforting warmth.
Those rooms are now not as bright as of November 23, 2024. Jo passed peacefully amongst her family at the grand age of 87.
Josephine Bernice Morris came into this world on the 27th of March, 1937 to William and Berniece Morris in Chicago, Illinois. She grew up in Havana, Illinois before moving to Oak Hill, FL in the early 1950's.
She graduated from St Paul's High School in Daytona Beach in 1956 & then proceeded to have some of her most cherished memories at Ringling College of Art & Design.
Growing up on Kelly Morris Circus owned by her family, it granted her the chance to travel far & wide, She collected unique experiences & grand stories from that golden era; that allowed her to bestow upon her family & friends that were all too eager to hear !
From being a performer & artist to creating loving bonds between herself and family to her animals from elephants, horses and her dogs. She loved painting and drawing, traveling and spending time with family.
Josephine Bernice Morris became Jo Bernie Weaver in July 1959 becoming a half of a whole - when she married her beloved & partner in life Lou Weaver.
The brand new Mrs. Weaver was promoted to the most important job one could be granted, on the 8th of April, 1960 - when she became a mother for the first time to her daughter Kelly. For a second time on April 2, 1963 to her son Jasper & for the third & final time on June 26, 1964 to her son Vincent.
1966 was the year Lou and Jo built their business Interstate Amusements of America Inc. -carrying on her show roots ! It allowed her to continue her love for traveling, giving her an extraordinary life.
She leaves behind her beloved Husband of 65 years , Lou of New Smyrna Beach, FL; Her adored Daughter Kelly, Her treasured Grandchildren - Fallon Thomas, Olivia(Mike)Bray, Joey(Ashlee)Weaver, Garrett Gentry & Victoria Weaver… Along with Her dearest Great Grandchildren - Cynnimin Weaver, Ayden, Angie & Adalyn Bray, Hunter Stevens & Scarlett Norvell.
Jo Bernie was preceded in death by her 2 adored sons ; Jasper & Vince & her brother Bill Morris.
She leaves behind an immense amount of cherished family, who will be bereaved for her warmth….& an extensive cast of cherished friends who will yearn for her company.
Everything she did was a ‘Touch of Class'
Services will be held at 12 Noon, December 10, 2024 at Basilica of St. Paul Catholic Church, 317 Mullally St. Daytona Beach, Fl.
Following the Mass will be a grave side ceremony held at the mausoleum site, at Sea-Pines Memorial Gardens in Edgewater, Fl.
