George Beecher, former Strates Shows Office Manager, Passes

It is with great sorrow that the Strates Family shares news about the passing of George Beecher at 82 years of age. George was part of Strates Shows since 1981 working in the show office assisting with tickets, accounting, and promotions.
A native of Syracuse, George became fascinated with the carnival world as a child while visiting the New York State Fair and catching a peek of the Strates Shows train in a nearby railyard. Deciding he'd like to make the business his profession, he went on to work for Ringling Brothers and the Clyde Beatty/Cole Brothers Circuses before E. James Strates asked him to join the show.
George was a very humble, generous and gracious man who would go out of his way to assist anyone.
Longtime friend and fellow Strates road office employee Paul Meyers shares, “He was loyal and dedicated. His personality and sense of humor made a sometimes hard job more tolerable.”
He will be greatly missed by many. Our sincere condolences to his friends, co-workers and to his sister, Mary.
A funeral service for George will take place at 11am on Friday, August 23, 2024 at Precious Blood Parish (St. Mary’s Church) in Milford, CT.
