FORT WORTH - Barbara Ruth Brown, maiden name Sandefur, passed away peacefully at 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at a local memory care facility in Fort Worth, Texas, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was 82 years old.

Barbara was born on August 4, 1942, in Lubbock, Texas, to Horace and Lela Mae Sandefur. She was a woman of strength, intelligence, and resilience. Barbara was a dedicated business partner to her husband, Buster Lee Brown, and helped build a strong foundation for their family before his passing on August 2, 1990. In the years following his death, she pursued a new path focused on education and personal growth. Never one to back down from a challenge, Barbara earned certifications in real estate and paralegal studies and taught herself how to trade stocks, demonstrating both her curiosity and tenacious spirit.

Barbara was a loving mother to two daughters, Mary Brown Talley and Carole Brown Young; and a devoted grandmother to Taylor Nicole Talley and Payton Leanne Young. She also leaves behind two cherished nieces, Dana and Suzanne Rumfield. Her family was her pride and joy, and her strength and grace continue to live on in each of them.

A visitation will be held at Mount Olivet Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, 2025.

A funeral service to honor her life will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, April 28, 2025, in Mount Olivet Chapel.

Barbara's legacy is one of determination, independence, and love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
