When we began carnivalwarehouse.com in 1997, we thought the internet would be a great place to publish. The ability to get a story out quickly was exciting to us, as trade publications at the time, like Amusement Business, had a lag time of a week and later, a month, to get the information to its readers.
With carnivalwarehouse.com, we were on the edge of a wave that hit all print publications and changed the landscape of how readers received their news. From those early days of publishing headlines and some original stories between the two of us, we now publish three times a week, provide headlines every weekday, provide daily coverage of major trade shows and meetings, we have a comprehensive list of fairs, and we are proud to publish the annual Top 50 Fairs and Carnivals list. Readership has also grown by leaps and bounds, now reaching 30,000 unique visitors a month, a number that far exceeds the readership of any trade publication in the industry's history.
We enjoy being able to provide a news source to the fair and carnival industry and a great advertising source to our manufacturers and suppliers. We are especially grateful to our loyal readers and advertisers because without you, we would never have been able to accomplish so much in such a short period of time.
Looking ahead, we have some exciting new features and a brand new design we are rolling out starting today. Perhaps most importantly, for the first time, we are venturing into a related territory, amusement parks, with our new site; Amusement Park Warehouse (www.AmusementParkWarehouse.com
). We hope to cover amusement parks with the same passion we have with fairs and carnivals and we also trust many of you will patronize both sites.
Again, the internet provides us with some amazing capabilities. No matter which warehouse site you visit, you will be able to easily see headlines and top stories from the other site and easily click between them. We will begin publishing original articles for amusementparkwarehouse.com on Tuesdays and Thursdays, complimenting our coverage in carnivalwarehouse.com on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Both sites will have daily headlines. We will also be adding new features to amusementparkwarehouse.com
, items we will be rolling out in the coming weeks.
In the not too distant future, you can expect to see a third site launched, specializing in the coverage of festivals and events.
Needless to say, we are very excited about the future on our warehouse sites. We want to thank our readers, our advertisers, our writers and staff, and our supporters of every stripe for your help along the way. Please keep the feedback coming, we listen to all your comments and use them to better serve you with our publications.
Thank you for supporting us in our chronicling of the amusement industry and we look forward to providing outstanding coverage for many years to come!
