I was looking through some old AB's and was trying to get a handle on the Space Wheels' history. Do you (or anyone) know if Kunz bought the wheel from the Velares and always booked it in with RAS, so that RAS never owned it? If so, did Kunz sell it to CVS, or were there other owners in between?

Space Wheels were shared between Royal American and Century 21 and then exclusively owned by Royal American Shows. Not sure of the details, but that's what I have been told from a very reliable source.

Ok, I wasn't sure on the relationship. I know that several early 60's AB articles referenced the wheels as being owned by Kunz/Cent 21 and booked into the RAS route. In addition, Al bought ad space thanking RAS for letting him book in both the Space Wheel and Velare wheel. It never ceases to amaze me how much of this history is simply word of mouth and slowly fades away.

it is my understanding that Al owned the wheels and booked them with RAS for five years then sold them to the show.
