In my time at home, was looking at some old stuff I had and found a Wisdom catalog.

Saw the Arctic Circle and now that Himi had hills, 24 tubs and looks great, forgot about that ride they offered in the 90s. Yes, it was two loads, but looked really great, price $555,000. Gravitron was $230,000, and Sizzler was $167,000.

My understanding of it was labor. It supposedly was as much to move as a regular Himalaya with not as much quality.

Not knocking... Just what I was to understand from others.

ok, good information, of course the picture doesn't tell the whole story.

How does the Artic Circle compare to the Flying Bobs ride. Is Flying Bobs racked on one or two trailers?

Normally the Flying Bobs is racked on two loads, center load and tub load (with scenery, jackstands, blocks, sign, etc.).

Some shows have changed their Flying Bobs tub load to a 28' wagon but dropping the top of the ride. One did it though and did not drop the top, Strates had a short wagon for the tub load and still had the top.

When Strates had the ~20' tub wagon they also had a van trailer [maybe 30-36'] plus the center load.

Found a pic of the 2nd trailer Floyd & Baxter had for the Bobs with Strates in 1974. I think it was a 33 footer.

Was that during the last few years they had it? Thought it just the center and 20' those years, but could be wrong.

If I recall correctly the other trailer may have been a 30-36' drop frame trailer that they got from Floyd & Baxter. I'll have to dig to see if I have a picture of it. But that was before digital photography so it won't be so easy to find. Have to look thru photo albums and/or slide trays.

That 93 wagon is the same one Strates had in '78 when Bobby Watson (and later me) was moving it.

When he got the new bobs in (I think) '79 he got a new van (maybe 220?) but continued using the old tub load.

I think you're right.

Anyway, I had some good times in that 93 wagon...

After I made foreman in Delaware we got a new sound system and had the pre & power amps and a Rockola jukebox in the wagon and a mixer in the doghouse, which meant we ALWAYS got the wagon behind the ride...
