Was looking at some pictures of the show yesterday and had some questions if anyone can answer.

From the pictures I saw looked like he had a nice show, but I have heard he didn't own it all. Was wondering which rides were booked on and how much he owned. I figure good many of the backend pieces were booked, but what about the Amor Express, Himalaya, and did he have a Flying Bobs or Music Fest? The pictures I saw I could tell it was one of them, just couldn't see the whole ride or sign.

I have heard about Milt's fancy different colored suits, but was he a fair show owner? Did he treat folks that booked with him good, could you make a dollar on the show I guess without being dinged to death?

Didn't ever get to see the show in person, just pictures, but if they owned it at the time the Amor Express came to our fair here and maybe the Bobs/Fest those couple of years.

Saw GMDM a few times in the late 70's in Erie and Allentown, PA. They had a Matterhorn, Super Himalaya along with Zyklon, Diver, 6 Hamptons, SkyWheel and big F&B Scooter along with quite a few majors. Don't know who owned what.

I think I was booked with him one in the ‘80s and all he had was the Spot, an office and a light plant.

Did he have the Amor Express at that time, or was that a book in?

This is one of the shows my father in law used to tell me that played Missouri and he mentioned a show called Dell and Travers. He also said rides used to arrive by train on a track that ran into the fairground. That track now ends at a factory across the street.

Wasn’t D & T the show Paul Theodor bought and renamed Olympic Shows?

Whatever happened to him?

I know they went down to Venezuela in the ‘80s and as I understand it everyone made a ton of money but a bunch of people lost their equipment when they came back.

Yep, believe your right on D&T and Paul, and yes they went down to Venezuela but actually heard it was a bad tour and the show never recovered and finally was sold out I believe (or what was left) to AofA, could be wrong on that though. I did see the Hot Pot (Tip Top) on AofA in the 80s.

Good information, thanks although I wonder which show came by rail, I don't think D&T's did or GMDM either. Maybe Royal American for a while?

He wintered a mile or two from Strates, and poached some of our help to go down there. As I heard it they made bank, but it was tough getting out with the money and equipment and a bunch of people got screwed, but apparently Paul did okay.

Everything about the operation was crap.

As I remember it, I think Paul was related to Strates, cousin of brother-in-law or something.

There is a small historical museum on the fairgrounds I will get out there and see if I can get some information on who brought rides by train.

Dell & Travers became Olympic Expo and when that went down it was absorbed by Gerry Murphys Worldwide Amusements or whatever his conglomerate was called.

I saw them towards their end in New Brunswick NJ
they had load tested the Super loops with sand bags. The bags broke open and sand everywhere
in the track and wheels. What a disaster. I dont think they ever got open there.
