The Wade/Wood Wheel is a 46m wheel (Lambrink 46L) standing at approx 150ft tall.

The RCS La Grande Wheel is a Bussink Wheel (model RL50). Bussink sold mfg rights in 2008 and the company who produces the wheels now is Dutch Wheels B.V. Despite the model number of the wheel being RL50, the actual size of this wheel is "approx 45m" (which converts to 147ft) according to the link below:

http://www.amusement-rid...oduct/giant-wheel-r50-sp

Last year, RCS ordered a new set of enclosed gondolas for the ride and re-named it La Grande Wheel XL. I believe they also upgraded the decking too.

RCS owns a 33m Dutch Wheel, a 33m Lambrink Dutch Wheel, and the La Grande Wheel XL.

Regardless of who owns the title for largest portable giant wheel in North America, both are beautiful wheels and I give both owners credit for taking on the substantial investment of the pieces plus transportation and operational costs to keep them on the road!

I wonder if this ride
could operate under the same financing and sponsorship.

Thanks Matt...
That explains that! I thought the "RL50" translated into a 50 meter wheel.
So, each wheel in their own right can claim to be the biggest in north america:
One the tallest
One the biggest (from a transportation perspective)

good question?
both have 36 gondolas, but I'm not sure of capacity.
It looks like the RCS wheel has larger gondolas, but again I'm not sure and just guessing.

Yeah, I’m guessing the tubs have to be bigger given all the extra loads.

A 33m, 24-tub wheel takes a full load for tubs, and they nest.,.

I believe the Wade/Wood Wheel the Gondolas come apart for transport, so less space required to move them.
The RCS Wheel the gondolas do not break down and would require much more space to transport. And the RCS gondolas are air conditioned haking them bigger from that.

the RCS wheel also appears to have a lot more scenery that goes along with it, including those very large decorative diamonds that surround the center hub spreading outward. It would be hard to argue against the RCS truly being the biggest portable wheel. But that Wade wheel is also very nice and I hope I get the ride it someday.

I keep reading on various news stories and Facebook news posts that the largest traveling portable wheel is 155 feet and belongs to Michael Wood and Frank Zaitshik and uses (12) trucks to move
