Wold's Sun Wheel is interesting. Who makes this? Looks new. Their midway has changed since I saw it last. I didn't see their Casino. They had re-themed it to Wave or something similar a few years ago.

Also, the re-themed Tilt with Butler is very original too. Where was that spot in Stockton? I haven't seen Butler here doing carnivals in a long time. It's usually Midway of Fun.

Thanks for the photos.

Hey Patrick;

I was told the Sun Wheel was made in the late 1980's or the 1990's by a company called Italian Amusement Products.

They only made 7 or so, and this is the only one in North America.

Before this, it was located at the Palace Playland amusement park at Old Orchard Beach in Maine; before that, it was owned by an independent operator (Tim Magid?) who sometimes booked on with Strates Shows.

I was hoping Wold Amusements would have it set up at the San Joaquin County Fair so I could get get some more shots of it (with a better sun angle, plus maybe an aerial view from a slide or something), but it's not there.

The Butler spot in Stockton was on Hammer Lane, near the Stockton Steel plant and the car dealerships.

That Tilt is pretty neat; I hope I can get an aerial view of it sometime in the future.

Sun Wheel has been to the NC State Fair many years ago. if it was owned by Tim Magid, that is Strates son in law.
