Fear driven economic plan.
Want to benefit from it? Sell freeze-dried food packages, insurance seeds, or MRE's and bunkers.
I don't believe 2012 will be the last year the Earth is here. The chatter will get louder and more intense until January 2013. I'm saddened by the misinterpretation of the Mayan Calendar - according to Mayans and Mayan Culture experts. All the end of that calendar means is another 5,126 year period begins. (http://news.discovery.com/space/the-2012-mayan-calendar-doomsday-date-might-be-wrong.html)
I don't believe mankind can destroy the entire Earth - the planet heals itself (rather quickly) when left alone.
I don't believe there will ever be a nuclear war.
If a nuclear weapon ever detonates again the result will be minimal in the big scheme of things.
Those who live where water is scarce, should move. Or get these:
http://www.gizmag.com/ex...water-from-the-air/2796/ http://www.islandsky.com/ Those who live where food is hard to come by, should move. (And STOP having children, until they are where they can support them - it's cruel.)
Where social unrest persists, people should build a just reputation of protecting themselves, their families, and their property with deadly force.
If a cosmic catastrophe is on its way, there's NOTHING to be done about it. We don't have the technology.
Life is a death sentence, a degenerative disease NOBODY has ever beat. Enjoy what you've got today cause tomorrow may never come... :)

On the other hand, I've watched the Hoods Woods videos from
www.survival.com and learned about survival techniques for 30 years. I've watched the great documentary about Dick Proenneke (http://www.aloneinthewilderness.com/) a few times and dreamed of doing the same thing. I've got a few Bug-Out_Bags and caches in case things do go sideways.
You've got 72 hours after the water is turned off or the electricity doesn't work before society starts to break down. 3 days and people start to lose their minds! Amazing.
Once you're prepared, all the chatter in the world doesn't raise your blood pressure.
I really am annoyed that the life expectancy number keeps rising though. 300 years ago people were lucky to hit 50 and to reach 70 was a miracle. Why old, broken down folks who don't contribute and who are either drugged to oblivion or in pain constantly want to lengthen their lives doesn't make much sense to me. Enjoy yourself and others and have as much adventure as you can - and then do the mature thing, curl up and leave yer troubles behind... 🙂
...Wish I could say these things in public, but I'd probably annoy someone. That's okay - offense is always taken, never given. Religiously minded or not Ecclesiastes 7:9 is right and logical.
