Yeah, we somewhat used to do that here, now there is something to be said for putting all your trucks/trailers in a row neatly.

But one thing I remember from the 70s and 80s at the Upper SC state fair, there was a large middle area and it would be full of trucks, trailers, power plants and the such. I enjoyed looking at all of that as much as the midway.

Of course, lot of joint owners would have a bunch of stick joints in one trailer so you had that, then the ride trailers with all the paint work on the sides, and the open trailers for rides such as the Tilt, Spider, etc.

Of course, I still miss the unique things like using school buses for side shows and things like that.

Ahh the good old days.

that is one heck of a ride, those pics show fire blowing and a fountain, tons of scenery and it looks like they even sold shirts for the ride from that fire truck. Curious to see if all that is done here in the US, if so that should be the talk of the town for sure
