last night I went to Boonsboro MD, and the Dutch Wheel was not there for the first time in quite a few years. Their green muligan wheel was up and running. After walking through the midway, it appeared like I saw the "other" half of the orange unit. Normally this spot gets the dutch wheel, huss tornado, musik express, and has been know to see the tango, and sky flyer.

This year the ride list included carousel, mardi gras, raiders, yo yo, tidal wave, scooter, muligan wheel, gravitron, slide, pharohs fury, scrambler, and bunch of kiddies. I always knew Reithoffer split the orange unit and it seems for the first time ever, they have swapped for Boonsboro and we saw the other half.

Question is: Where is the Dutch Wheel right now?

As of 2 days ago Friday the 24th , the bigger half of Orange unit was still sitting at Capital Plaza Mall in Hyattsville, MD which ended it's 4 week run on the 19th, and the Dutch was still in the air Monday , i'm thinking it came down Tuesday. Most of this side of the unit open at the Rosedale Maryland VFD on June 3 for a 5 day run.

Anyways Arctic blast , Huss Tornado , and Flitzer (Racing) were not used so i'm really not entirely sure if those would be going up for a 5 day event. Terminus and orbiter plus several others kiddie rides weren't used either

Plaza was essentially Carousel , slide , freak Out , vertigo , scooter (demo derby ), zipper , tilt , Typhoon (wisdom tornado), Sizzler, Arctic Blast , Dutch Wheel and Yoyo plus around 8 kiddie rides.

Hope this helps

Great story on Reithoffer on the front page, but still gotta wonder.........where is the Sea Sturmbahn? Still rusting in a field somewhere?

Gee, wouldn't that make a great renewed addition to take out west to those fairs.

That was my favorite music ride of all time, such a unique ride with the sail boats, water fountain and a lotta lights.

For those of you that have never seen it or rode it, outstanding ride, could go forwards and backwards without even stopping the ride because the sail boats would pivot during the speed run.

Eye catching as well, not only all the lights, but seeing those boats going around up and down the hills with the sails on them was real "flash".

I did find some new pictures I haven't seen before of the ride in Perry, think it said "2000", for some reason the sails are not on the tubs in these pictures (maybe pre stripped?), but enjoy:

Yes me too... Of all the great/unique rides they had, and in most cases still do, the See Strum Bahn was my favorite... Believe it is still sitting in their WQ in Florida 😞
Would love to see it completely refurbished and on the road again, but is it worth it from a cost and time standpoint?

Seen this unit in Springfield Mo. several years ago and have been a fan of there ride lineup every since. The tornado was is what impressed me the most and it was my first time seeing a freak out. There were lots of impressive rides for a regional fair including the Dutch Wheel, Tango, and Speed. I seem to remember a Flying Bobs and many more. Had heard people raving about their lineup and they did not disappoint.

Oh yeah Reithoffer has had some really great "themed" rides over the years, some I can remember:

Tip Top: (of 2) with a backwall (painted on both sides) themed "Flipper"

Kaleidoscope: themed Scrambler inside a Cinema 180 tent with light show/music.

Bates Motel: Big dark ride with theming on the backside as well.

Nice trailer mounted Venture canoe

Double Umbrella ride on one trailer

Arm Skymaster themed "Tomahawk"

Some other nice rides since retired were:

Caterpillar
Chance Twister
Cobra
Hurricane
Casino
Scat
Diver
Trooper
Turn Tike
Rainbow

I remember the Flying Bobs, saw it a couple of years before they dropped it.

Didn't know they had a Super Sizzler at one time. Didn't want it to replace the Scrambler, but I did like the Super Sizzler, very smooth, flashy, and enjoyed going backwards.

thunderbolt, I saw the Super Sizzler quite a few years ago at the Frederick MD fair on the orange unit. That same year they had the tornado directly across from it, and the Rock n Rapids flume beside the Dutch Wheel on one side, and the fairground fence on the other side.
