Man, it's almost worth buying just so I could ride one of those things. I've heard about them my whole life, even seen two in person both of which were shut down... but they sure sound like a blast. Anyone on here ever owned one or rode in one? I'd love to hear about it.

Scott, call Charles Dabbs at Carnival Magazine. He owned one...and booked it with Childress for years.

I don't know who's it was personally, cause I was just a little shi! at the time ,but I do know for 100% fact it was on "Zabel Shows" ,The lot was a Rodeo-Indian Reservation in Fla..It was a jam up spot too.

I know it's been discussed on here before. I lOVED it. Knoebels Park had one and I waited in line for it every visit. A lot of work for that "weightless feeling". Plus my sister & I had to prove that 2 teenage girls could make it go over the top.

Mn-No-So-Dak Shows (Renamed to Premier Shows out of Dalton, MN) Owns one...I used to set it up and tear it down when I was with them many years ago...It was fun to ride in.

Pulling it down the road was another story.

you know Premier Shows out of Dalton, Minnesota. They used to come to our county fair all the time. They are back now as Premier Enterprises and got rid of alot of their rides. I saw that they had the swinging gym last year racked at the wadena county fair in wadena, Mn.

Interesting piece, that's for sure. Back in the late 1970's I remember McDonagh's Amusements and Motor State Shows had one, never saw one with any other show, and only saw those two a few times. Insurance nightmare now, meaning, from what I understand you cannot get any.

Isn't this the ride that used to cause lots of injuries?

Yep, the one and the same... hence the difficulty in getting insurance for one of them...[:D]

If you remember they had two braking systems. The earlier ones had a pad that came up from the bottom and slowed the cage each time it hit bottom. The newer ones by Goforth I believe it was had fancy disc brakes. A 2x4 thrown on the pad of the early ones was an instant stop, complete with insurance claim.
