Dear all,

Well I just got done from my weekend midway visit. I drove over to Oldsmar, FL, and visited the Oldsmar Ocktoberfest where the midway was provided by Arnold Amusements and Swyear Amusements. There were about 19 rides there; all were in very good looking shape. I have a list here for you all. Sorry about the pics not coming out so well, it was kind of late and the sun was behind a few of the rides so I did my best. I hope you all enjoy. Also, I am running out of room on my web server, so if anyone wants to look at the past pics please do so soon as I will have to be making room for more.

Wish they'd've brought that Rock-O to Arkansas with them [:p]

I'm enjoying your pics, Jimmy D [:)]

Great pics Jimmy. Mamatiger, that Rock-O-Plane is Arnold's, not Swyears, so it would not have been in Arkansas anyways.

Hey Jimmy, you are one of the most, if not the most, knowledgable people on here about who made certain dark rides, fun houses, would you happen to know who made Arnold's dark ride (Castle Mortuary)? I thought it looked nice when I saw it here in Michigan. Just curious. I know Bill Browning painted it, and this is the first year I have seen Arnold with it.

Absolutely, especially since I got a chance to take a close look at it today, it is an old Hollingsworth that was rebuilt by Bill Green of the ABle Machine Company. Is still has the Hollingsworth cars and slide in wings, however the steps are clearly something that Bill Green uses, just as the ones on Reithoffer's New York New York, and Doolans Raiders of the Lost Mine, and Jeff Deggellers Lost Mine, all 3 of which were built by Green. Hope this was helpful. If it makes any differnce, our Darkride (Pirates Curse) is built almost the same way, ours, when new, would have looked more like that one does now, minus the Browning paint job.

Wow that was quick! Thanks, I knew you would know. [;)] I thought it was a rather sharp looking dark ride when I saw it in June and then again in September.

No Problem Chris, that is one area where I have plenty of knowledge, back end pieces are my hobby, that is part of the reason we had the Thriller, I have always wanted a one of a kind ride, and that was as close as I could get, since there were only 3 that wasnt to bad. Not like having a Mardi Gras that every show in the country has.
