I am interested in how the "Show Owners" got their start in the business[?]. Any information would be appreciated.

Depending whether you are born into the industry or buy into it as a partner with a showman/operator.

My Uncle Corky and his partner(at the time) one day decided to go into business so they bought a Slide and booked it on Zable's Amusements. One thing led to another and they bought another ride, then another. Then in 1980 a new show was born, "Amusements Of Rochester". Now known as "Powers Great American Midways" visit their site at www.powersmidways.com
