I remember when I was a kid, Gooding Amusement Company, largest and most reliable painted on their red trucks. The company was based in Columbus, Ohio on Vallyview Dr. Owned by Floyd Gooding. Is this the same company as Gooding's Million Dollar Midway? I remember when he passed away, alot of his equipment was sold to Pugh Shows. Jerry Kaltenback who later became Ohio State Fair Mgr. also had some interest in some of the Gooding equipment. [8D]....................................Where's the beer?

By my recollection, Gooding's Million Dollar Midway was The creation of Floyd Gooding, the show evolved into one of the country's largest and had a route that included no less than four state fairs. Goodings Amusements and the 10 or so units they had at the time they then sold The Million Dollar Midway to the Rabbi, AKA Milton Kaufman. Not sure if that was after the death of Flyod Gooding or not.

You are wrong on that one. I just did a google search. Check out Aug 2003 issue of carousel.

Both companies were owned, started by floyd G. i would say that that is where Floyd and Baxter got there start as independents, skooter, himalayas.

JD and Billy did book their skooters with Goodings... in fact it was their first spot with the skooter, and it got hit by a Tornado.

there is only 1 100'ft floyd and baxter scooter left and thats on cvs still today

The lobby of the new Italian buffet style. starts with a B, (expensive) rest. chain has a pic of a nun in a dodgem car on a f&b skooter.

Who else got there start with Gooding? That person with the flying Coaster may have, Harvey Wilson-nice guy, he was around for years. They used a lot of independents, actually, they were the ideal position for an independent back when it was successful. You could buy anything and expect to book it with them. It isn't so easy today, much more competition, no need to run 10 units.

If you mean Harvey Wilson, father of Phil of gorilla show fame, then he's still around. I saw both of them last Sunday at the Tampa club's BBQ. Harvey is a very nice guy who has survived throat cancer

If I remember correctly the article said that they had 12 Units and 169 rides... I don't remember if that was Gooding Amusement Co., Gooding's Million Dollar Midway or both!

Lets see 12 tilts, 12 scramblers, 12 ferris wheels, 12 merry-go-rounds and may be 12 hamptons. That is 60 rides right there alone... I would imagine each unit probably had each of these???

They were definitly the BIGGEST...
