I own a Gold Medal X15 Whirlwind Model 3015A. I just installed two new ribbons and a new double floss band ($$$) but I'm having production issues and wondering why.

I have new parts. Weather is perfect. I have full voltage. I fill the head up to 90% and go. It starts with great production but then the sugar starts flying out from the head in small melted bits instead of fluffy cotton and the bowls ends up coated with a 2" band of hard sugar. The fluffy cotton candy is ruined along that band.

Do you know what would cause that?

I am using floss that's past the expiration date but I looked up online and it says sugar doesn't go bad - at least kitchen sugar. I didn't want to throw it away and it tastes fine but I'll get new floss.

In the meantime, have any of you seen this and might know why it's happening?

Also, how empty does your head get when you go to run it out all the way? I can't seem to get all the sugar out no matter how long I run it with full heat.
