I spent this summer on tour with an animal show owned by my friend. I booked the tour. We played dates with four different shows.

First spot was Pillager,Mn with Amusement Attractions (Willy Purdy)

Mulligan Wheel
Bumper Cars
Bumble Bees
Dragon Wagon
Fun Slide

About eight games

Three food trailers plus a lemon and a shaved ice joint.

This spot was simply a filler date and an attempt to make payroll. It was smack dab on the way to the next spot and more than likely did its job and broke even.

We then traveled to Herman, Mn for the Grant County Fair. Cody Rides had the contract.

Rides were:

Hampton Combo
Zamperla Mini Jet
Kiddie Train

Three games

Two food trailers
Taco trailer

A Rock-O-Plane was there as well. The sweeps got spread but the ride never went vertical, and obviously never opened.

Mike Cody had another spot that weekend that closed Saturday Night. So, for the final day of this spot, he brought in a Tubs of Fun and a Monkey Mania walk through.

The following week, we had open so we booked our parakeet feeding exhibit on with Willy Purdy in Cambridge, MN.

Willy had everything from Pillager set up plus:

Dark Ride
Turn Tyke
Kiddy Octopus
Hampton Motorcycle Jump

Willy's show looked great. New tops for the Merry-Go-Round and Scooter as well as new rest area tops were delivered to Cambridge. Willy was shopping for another major (he has since bought a Sea Dragon). The spider, dark ride, and a line up water race are owned by Willy's oldest son, Mason.
This spot had potential. However, cold temps and rain on Friday and Saturday made it a disappointment.

The next week, we played the Chippewa County Fair in Montevideo, MN. We did just one day there. The spot doesn't have a carnival. Just inflates.

We then overnight end into the Blue Earth County Fair in Garden City, MN. Again, just inflates.

The following we had us in Princeton, MN for the Mille Lacs County Fair.

Stipe Shows had the midway. This is one of just two fairs that Stipes does in their busy schedule of mostly city celebrations.

ELI Wheel
HI-Lite Swings
Lite Slide
Glass House
Dizzy Dragons
Wrecking Ball (Woodke pendulum ride)
Pirate's Revenge ( Woodke ship ride)
Hampton combo
Rock Town
T-Rex inflate

Always a great time doing a spot with Barry and crew. Not the newest fanciest midway but everything is clean and quality.

It was then on to our final spot of the Minnesota tour the Renville County Fair in a Bird Island, MN

This was supposed to be played by Todd Keenan and Royal West Amusements, however he canceled less than a week before the fair. He got a spot from Crescent City Amusements who then had no work and ended up in Bird Island.

Greg Brooks put up nine pieces.

Larson Fireball
Rock-N-Cars (Majestic Scooter with Rock-N-Roll theming)
Fun Slide
Hampton Wave Runner
Hampton VW Beetles
Hampton Quads
Hampton Motocycle Jump

The Hamptons are four to a truck. Greg had another unit out with his Tilt, Gravitron, Spider (former PGAM), Expo Wheel, etc.

Greg and his wife Michele are really running a clean looking show. They're stepping up their food operations and now currently have two 26foot HitchHiker trailers (Crescent City Grill and Crescent City Cake & Donut Co.)

Minnesota is really hurting this season with the departure of two carnivals. A lot of spots were left without a show.
