Here is a link to a story about the effects of Sandy on the Jersey Shore. It had a better picture of the park with the log flume broke off at the back, and the Jet Star in the water. You can also see what looks like a Himi, Huss Enterprise, Tilt, Wild/Crazy Mouse, and other rides.

Looks like they tore a lot of the rides down before the store, or either the storm did all the damage.

here is a link to some video that shows lots of damge at both of the 2 different piers that had rides on Jersey Shore. Look at the large wheel with not much left to support it. Sad to see this:

I really hate to say this because it comes at the expense of others, but the up side to this hurricane is it will be such a boon to the local economy and will trickle into the rest of the country. Think of all the new Cars that will be sold, the home builders, constrution companies, and even Games, food and ride mgf. Those rides will have to be replaced or rebuilt.

That Coaster that's in the ocean looks like it just dropped down but is for the most part intact. It might be savagable. The "Himalaya" you refered too is a Bertazon Matterhorn/Rock/Roll like AofA's. The Bertazon Himalaya is washed up on the shore.

I just hope the pier is solid enough to get those other rides off.

I pulled a few photos from their slide show that were amusement related and posted them below:

The first two pictures Matt posted are from Keansburg Amusement Park, Keansburg, NJ, a really old amusement park in northern New Jersey. It looks like they got hit hard too.

Here are links to some photo galleries of the destruction at Keansburg...

Keansburg has added a lot of newer rides over the years, however they have some old rides as well, such as Lussee Auto Scooters, some older kiddie rides like a AH Jolly Carerpillar, Mangel's Kiddie Whip, old miniature train, etc... The buildings there are really old.

They also have what is quite possibly the oldest operating Pretzel dark ride (I hate to think what might have happened to the dark ride,as it's in a row of concession buildings that look like all the back walls are bowed out).
