KALAMAZOO — The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile is scheduled to visit the Kalamazoo area next week.

The driver, "Deli Fresh Danica," sent us the Wienermobile's itinerary for some upcoming "Halloweenie" events.

Of special note, on Oct. 30 the Wienermobile is hosting a clothing drive to benefit the Salvation Army. The vehicle will be parked from 2-5 p.m. at TownePlace Suites, 5683 S. Ninth St., in Texas Township.

"Our goal is to stuff the Wienermobile with donated clothes," Deli Fresh Danica writes. "It’s a pretty big hot dog, so we’d love to see as many people from the community as possible out donating their old sweaters, coats, and warm clothes (there will be Wiener Whistles for those that donate)."

I remember the wiener-mobiel and the wiener-whisles they gave out at the market when I was a kid.
