A great deal of the posts on this forum are hyperlinks to other web pages.
Just now I tried to link to a page using Safari ( version 4.1.3), something I do everyday.
My MAC (ASX 10.4) would not highlight any addresses so I could copy them.
There doesn't seem to have been any upgrade to Safari.

Yes ridejockey is right, Safari was updated to 5.1 and you listed that you have MAC OS 10.4 means you still have Tiger and have not upgraded to leopard then to Snow Leopard or just release Lion. You need to really upgrade the software to MAC OSX Lion because everything will work fine.

I'd read the Lion reviews before upgrading. Most people like it, but there are a lot of squeaks about specific applications not working or being dropped.

After the upgrade I had to find and click on "show toolbar" then everything returned to normal.
