I'm going to say this anyways....

Nobody's taxes are "going up." I guess you don't pay attention to what really goes on and missed that the tax rates set in 2001 (which were cuts for everyone from the Clinton tax rates) were extended again for two years for EVERYONE, (and the Republicans want to make them permanent). EVERYONE from the lowest to highest incomes, which includes you and me. Well, wait, some taxes are going up, the Democrats did insist that the estate tax (which was at 0%) be brought back at 35% (which means when you die, 35% of the value of what you have left will be have to be paid to the government in taxes....even though probably 100% of it was already taxed once....that's the Dems for you, always milking folks for money one way or another). The Republicans had no choice, they weren't in control yet when the vote came down, it was take it or leave it....

I know, you're ticked off that the Dems are not in control of both houses of congress anymore....enjoy the next two years with your messiah in the White House, because that's all he's going to get if the last election is any indication....oh, and twenty four Dem senators are up for re-election in 2012, and only eight Republican senators, so....[whistling

The income taxes are not going up and actually employees will see more in there take home pay because of the reduction of the employee contribution to social security. I am not sure how we can afford this break with all the baby boomers coming to retirement age and always hearing how social security is going bankrupt. I guess this will kill it for sure in the next 30 years and by time I retire SS will probably be a thing of the past. Our politicians will see to that.

As far as the income tax rates, I would have been less against the Bush cuts if the top tax bracket didn't get the largest percentage break from the Clinton era taxes. If their tax bracket could be reduced by 4.6% (from 39.6 to 35%), why didn't all tax brackets get reduced by this same amount? The middle brackets went down 3% (from 36, 31, and 28% to 33, 28, and 25%). That is why I feel the Bush era tax cuts were for the wealthy because the richest people got the largest breaks.

For inheritance tax is was good if you inherited from someone that died in 2010 because for 2010 it was 0. In 2001 when Bush took office it may have been too high but to go to 0? Also, I want to point out that the new rate of 35% only applies for the money after 5 million, something Chris didn't point out and many people forget to tell you when arguing to eliminate the tax. So if you inherit an estate worth 4.9 million, you don't pay a penny to the federal government. How many people reading this will inherit that much?

It is what you learn, after you know it all, that counts.

I get it now....John and the liberals are all for higher taxes on everyone and redistribution of 'wealth.' Great.

You like that huh? So, as an example, you work hard all day in your joint, bust your ass, call people in, flash the joint, and make a lot of money; all the while you notice the guy in the joint across from you does nothing but sit on his ass all day, doesn't call anyone in, doesn't try and flash the joint, just sits while every once in a while someone stops and plays at his joint because yours is too busy. At the end of the day you are happy and proud of the money you made; then management (ie, 'government') comes along and looks the other guys money, then looks at your money, and says to you, "Nice job today, you really made some money. However, we're going to take about 75% of it, since you don't need all of that money, and give a big chunk of it to the guy across from you, because he did not have a good day and doesn't have any money." So, basically, you worked hard all day to earn the money you made, only to see most of taken and given away to the guy across from you that did nothing all day to earn any money. But that's okay, you're fine with that, right? You probably would have helped the guy out on your own, or someone else who did not have any money, but management (ie, 'government') took that choice away from you. And it happens the next day, and the day after that, and before long, you realize, what the heck is my incentive for working hard and earning money? I'll just sit back and do nothing like everyone else and let management (government) take care of me!

And after awhile there are more people sitting and doing nothing than working hard to earn a living, but management (government) keeps right on giving. What happens? Those that are still working hard and earning a living get more and more of their money taken and 'redistributed' by management (government), and the pool of hard workers drops and drops, while the pool of do nothings gets larger and larger. Gee, that works out great, doesn't it?[badidea]

First I never heard any of the democrats say they want to raise everyones taxes.

Second, Chris how far do you want to go so we don't redistribute wealth? Are you OK with some redistribution that everyone pays the same percentage of income taxes and no deduction or some deductions? Do you want every American to pay the same dollar amount of tax to the government weather you are 5, 25, or 105? Do you want to eliminate all government spending and depend on people to build roads, schools, and defense? I just want to know how far we go without redistributing wealth.

And so are yours. Have you faced east towards DC and bowed to your king and messiah and offered up a sacrifice to him yet today? Take heart! More Kool-Aid is on the way! After all, your king promised it to you, gallons of it! Drink and be merry!
