Not sure how it got in there, because that folder is protected from uploads, but it's gone now 😉

Also, the topic posting bug has been squashed -- members can set notification preferences in their profiles now, which will include being notified of replies to topics you have posted to and/or chosen to be notified of, and so on. You may get duplicate notifications currently, as the system is not perfect, but you shouldn't be getting bombed in your email anymore now. Not to mention when you post, it will actually return you to your post instead of erroring out and dumping you to the forum homepage.

Also added:

We've enabled a 'social toolbar' at the bottom of our pages here on the forum - if you're a member of Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, or Yahoo, you can sign into those networks directly from this site, and chat/share/link content from here straight to your profile and other things. As more features become available on the toolbar, we'll enable them here on the site.

Hope you like it (and if you don't - you can minimize it by clicking the "double-down" arrows on the right end of the toolbar --

Also, mobile users should automatically be enabled via your Mobile Device to view the optimized forums via a Mobile theme designed for these units. Since I don't have a mobile enabled device, I can't test it out myself, so if anyone is having problems with it, please let me know and I'll see what I can do about it --

OK, I was just trying to respond to the Christmas song topic and when I clicked post I got this message:

There has been a serious error loading the forum. No further information is available.

Please contact the administrator if this message persists.

Then I noticed I was no longer logged in. I have noticed that I can't stay logged in and have to re-log in every time I visit. Does the forum log out after a real short time logged in?

I need to check the settings -- it's set to 20 minutes unless you have checked 'remember me' in the login box, but even that timeout might be a little short (the remember me) --

This should be solved here in a little bit --

The logins might reset again once or twice today while I hammer out this issue, but then they should stabilize for the duration -- The new software uses much stricter settings for session timeouts, forms posting, and other things, and it also talks to the server more regarding 'session state' and the server was not set for longer timeouts. I am modifying these settings to help maintain the session data longer. It should help --

this is going to take some getting used to, but it is going to be worth it. thanks squirrel for your hard work.
I've never been "with it", just been an interested observer of carnivals for more than 50 years.
Johnny's United Shows..."A Family Tradition" and "All for Fun, Fun for All".
The carnival of my youth, which had roots that originated in my hometown.

It's definitely a whole new ballgame with this software -- many more features, and others are greatly enhanced vs. Snitz, but in the end we hope it encourages more participation - there are things like member reputations (where users can vote up or down on members - and it is based on percentages and so on (as well as moderated)), better security, more editor features (and more coming when we update the editor) - once I'm done with configuration, there will be support for 'user albums' for uploading directly to the forums, and so forth...

One major issue, which is why we told members to make sure their passwords and emails are accurate and up to date, is that when members can't login, they will want to just create a new account. This is not how to fix it -- if you can't get into your account, you need to email forumserver@carnivalwarehouse.com with your email address you registered with originally, your username, and we will reset your password and send an activation link to your email address on your account.

Just ran a script that recounted all posts found in all forums for all members and updated their post counts. This has been executed against all found posts in the forums (including posts from the old archives which have been restored). The only flaw in this is that if posts have been deleted in the past, they were dropped from the post count. The post counters are now accurate against all members based on all posts present and accounted for in the database --

Had an issue with the Rules page for registrations causing multiple errors throughout the site -- this has just been resolved - sorry if you were having problems within the last 10-15 minutes --
