I wonder who will get the rides?

Winter Haven, Florida--Florida's first theme park, Cypress Gardens, will temporarily close on Nov. 17 for major renovations and reopen in March primarily as a water park.

Park officials say plans for the new park include expanding the wildly popular water park and doing away with the animal attractions and rides. The botanical gardens and the water ski show will remain.

"The operating expense of running 38 amusement rides, a zoo, the botanical gardens, a ski show, and a water park are considerable," said Cypress Gardens co-owner Ron Harper. "It is obvious the park cannot successfully function as four parks in one."

Park officials say they are in the process of notifying employees of the temporary closure. Most of them will be out of work during park renovations but those eligible will be reinstated when renovations are finished.

Great rides only if they are trailer mounted versions. I seem to recall they got a package of rides that was mostly out of the Chance and Zamperla catalogs.
