I finally finished my scratch built (operational) Yo Yo model and took some pics today.

I took advantage of the nice, bright sunny day and took pics of it outside, however, I did notice after the fact that the wind blew some of the chairs around a little lol..

The seat frames were all built by Warren Renauld, the center hub cut by Don Cummons from hard plastic, and the rest of the ride was fabricated completely from scratch by myself. It was a lengthy project that I started last January.. Most of the time came from cutting each individual chain, gluing it to the seat, then hanging it from the sweep with fishing line. If I had not gotten burnt out from cutting chain and hanging seats, it probably would have been finished sooner.

There are two motors for operation of the ride. One to turn the ride, and another to tilt the hub.

WOW. That looks fantastic! Awesome job Matt. Just blows my mind that not only scratch built but operational, too. Wow.

Thanks Mike!

I left out that the fence are Priser Barriers and the bally was printed on the ever-so-popular Colorfast fabric. For those who have not worked with Priser Barriers, they are great, realistic fence, but, very brittle and a little costly.

Try Eurorail Hobbies out of Canada, prices are better than Walthers, even with shipping costs, usually. Ebay is another good place.

Thanks Chris! Its been awhile since I last order this fence. I got a set around my Carousel yet Im in desperate need for more with new projects. Matt, are the jumper arches on the ends of the sweeps molds or did you bend them to get the arch?

Ask to order them from your local hobby shop. Most likeley they may go to Walthers but don't over look the valuable resource of the local hobby shop. Many times they will give you a discount too.
It is what you learn, after you know it all, that counts.
