I believe you are confused about socialism and a dictatorship.

I would like to see oil and pharmacuticals socialized. Why, to remove the heavy "for profit" motive.

My vote will be via absentee ballot, as I will be working as a "Poll Location Coordinator" who will have the key and the G to the joint. If you can't trust your vote to a carnie, who can you trust?

They mess with the foul line, their done.

It is just another economic engine.

Maybe you should consult the people of Venezuela about that. I can't even fathom how any American can say socialism is ok for America. I hope you’re kidding if you’re not please make sure you vote on Wednesday November 5th.

I understand your anger with the oil prices. I didn't like 150 dollar fill ups this summer either. So we do it with oil and health care whats next, food? I think what you are suggesting is a very slipper slope and is one I am not willing to go down.

Yeah but there are some people that can't tell you about McCain. Maybe they should make a requirement of voting that you need to know about the candidates on the ballot.
It is what you learn, after you know it all, that counts.

It will be like a large midway. The owners will have the best of everything. Then they, the goverment will come around for the nut. Also known as tax. The real cost is when they start dinging you to death.

The poll coordinators class today was 6 intense hours of information, much directed towards provisional voting. Get registered properly now to avoid that. Prov. ballots in Ohio are counted 10 days after the election.

I did see one weak point in the process that we were told to observe closely but I won't reveal it here.

However, there is a foul line. We put tape down 5' from the scanners for the next person to observe.

A coordinator has to know the details of everyones job and supervise the operation.
No time to slack on this job, very intense. Provisional, drive-up & handicapped voting take a lot of time.

This is the first chance I have had to sit down and answer in detail your response to my original post.

First of all I am not confused in any way about the situation with the Government in Venezuela.

Venezuela’s economy has some private ownership, but the government social programs are quite extensive and the foreign policy is very left-wing. The government has taken over complete control and ownership of the country’s oil. The consumer pays less than $2.00 a gallon for premium how ever there is a cost. Here is part of an article written on the subject. Venezuela is one a handful of countries who are listed as a socialist country.

It's no surprise that President Hugo Chávez, who regularly excoriates Western consumers for their wastefulness, has had a hard time preaching to his supporters about energy conservation or alternative fuels. Gasoline consumption at home has risen steadily over the last decade and is now about 320,000 barrels a day, or about 14% of the country's current oil output of 2.3 million barrels a day. And thousands of barrels are lost daily through illicit gasoline exports to neighboring Colombia, Brazil, and Trinidad and Tobago. Still, oil consumption per capita is far lower in Venezuela than in the U.S.: about 23 barrels per day per 1,000 people vs. 69 in the U.S., according to NationMaster.com.

But Venezuela is paying a price for cheap gasoline. State oil company Petróleos de Venezuela is footing an $11 billion a year bill for underwriting and subsidizing the fuel. That's nearly double its 2007 net income of $6.27 billion. The cost of that subsidy, along with money it pays to underwrite government social programs, has forced Petróleos de Venezuela to borrow billions on international markets to cover investments.

We don’t need socialism here in the US what we need is to reduce the size of government, cut out wasteful spending, eliminate welfare both corporate and private, give hospitals the option to turn away those who use our hospitals for doctors visits because they have no way to pay.

Maybe if our government weren’t so quick to subsidize every looser in this country with our hard earned tax dollars we wouldn’t be in the financial mess we are in today. That being said I can’t see how anyone could vote for Obama. He will enact more social programs that working people like you and I will have to pay for. He also has a lot of radical friends such as Khalid Abdullah Tarlqa al-Mansour, Tony Rezko, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Saul Alinsky, William Ayers, Rshid Khlidi, Frank Marshall Davis, and finaly Louis Farrakhan. Some of these names are well known while some are not but you can look any of these people up online. Most are Socialist, Marxists, or communists. I know I know they all have kids that go to the same school as his kids.

I am not a huge McCain fan either. I think he is an honorable man but he is not a conservative by any means. He will get my vote because there is no other option.

As much as I'd hate to see that happen, she'd be better than Obama, or Biden.
