We are in a dire financial crisis. We have just arrived on the thresh-hold of a crisis that could possibly dwarf the great depression before we’re through it. We have not arrived here because we chose it as our destination, but it was chosen by others possessed by greed. Greed on the part of the crooked CEOs of those failed Fannie & Freddie companies who “cooked the books” to paint a financial picture rosy instead of smelly so they could reap huge bonuses at our expense. Greed by the elected Representatives who turned their backs on those they were supposed to represent & toward the campaign contributions and sweetheart deals given them by those CEOs. Greed on the part of Organizations such as A.C.O.R.N. and the Black Caucus that pressured those lenders to issue low & no down payment loans to minorities who could not afford those loans. Finally greed on the part of those people who took out those loans knowing full well they could not afford the purchase. Now the people in no way responsible for the crisis are being asked to shoulder the outcome. Far worse yet, we are being asked(no, not asked. Told) to give over $800 billion dollars to the very individuals responsible. These thieves should be in prison, not in Congress.

Our Senators & Representatives, with the exception of a very few have voted their own self-interests instead of the wishes & desires of those who put them where they are. Over 85% of those American voters told them to vote against this Socialistic farce.

The scariest statement I have ever heard uttered was by Barack Obama who said , “Sometimes it is necessary to step up to the plate & do what is best for the country even if that is not popular.” Excuse me? Our system of Government was of the people, by the people, & for the people last time I checked. It seems to me then that it would be a majority of the voters rule system under that system, therefore the popular way would be the only way a representative of those people should vote ALL THE TIME. To not do so is to be dictatorial & imperialistic . That has no place in our society and belongs to the Socialists or Fascists.

There is a passage in our Declaration of Independence that applies as much today as it did then. That passage says simply & eloquently : “Governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed-That whenever any form of Government becomes destructive to those ends, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, & to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles & organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety & happiness.
It seems we have arrived, not only at the doorway of a severe financial crisis, but also at a time where, once again, America is faced with a Government out of control. A Government, once again, inflicting unfair taxation without adequate representation, and once again, truly in need of change. What say we kick em all back into the private sector where they will then actually know what is wanted by Joe Average Citizen and start anew with a Government truly of the people, by the people, & for the people once again.

Then why doesn't he concede the race? That is what would be best for the country.

The current financial crisis was supposed to have beeb avoided by oversight. Both Dodd and Frank chaired oversight comittees for that. Frank just a few months ago said everything was just fine. He even got his lover a high paying job in Fannie Mae. Will MA residents vote him out?

Donald Trump said in a recent interview the dominoes started falling due to high energy prices because the dems refused to allow drilling where oil is, refused to fast track refineries and build nukes. He said with people on the edge of what they could afford when energy prices went up that pushed them out.

I'm happy with my congressman, he represents many of my values and views but IF everyone else voted out every incumbent including Pelosi and Frank things would change in DC. The message would be sent. McCain was against deilling but longer before it was popular he changed his mind about offshore drilling. It has only been since the public screamed for it the Nobama has changed his mind. Palin wants drilling in Alaska. In less than 2 years that oil will be in the pipeline not 10 years as Nobama says. Living in the gas patch I see how long it takes for a well to be drilled and producing. In less than 90 days they poke multiple well heads. Using multiple companies the pipeline can be attached to the current pipeline raising it's current rate of less than 40% to 80% in less than two years. We have proven technology that works.

One other tidbit. Congress said they can now drill offshore, out side of 50 miles, the oil is less than 25 miles offshore.

As is the the congress, Fannie and Freddie are controlled by the dems, all of the ceos were former Clinton people.

Above are some prime examples of why we've arrived where we are today. There a couple of other wise things that have been said in the past that are too oft ignored today. They are as follows: " A nation divided cannot long endure" said by Honest Abe in his Gettysburg Address I believe and "Divide and conquer" I don't really know who said that but it still holds true.

Each faction zealously pursues their own interests paying no attention to the needs of the others, all the while our greedy Government does everything in their power to further split us into even more self-centered factions. Liken it to the biblical Tower of Babel where the one language was split into many thereby confusing all, or even to a more modern movie "Cool Hand Luke" where the warden said " what we have here is a failure to communicate".

Our Government easily swayed by contributions & sweetheart deals turn their backs on those who elected them & towards those who offer bribes. They promise those they call the poor, who are for the most, simply unwilling to exert the effort necessary to succeed, free this, free that in return for their undying loyalty. They steal from the ones who contribute to give to those who don't. They do this so as to control each. We blindly go along because today they offer a "free" to this faction, tomorrow to that faction, & the next day to yet another. No one seems to realize that each is simply getting what was stolen the day before returned to them in another form (minus the Government's vigorish of course) Prime example is demostrated above when it was stated, to wit: "I am happy my Congressman" Why is that so? I submit that it is because, at some point, he got something done that benefited you. It makes no difference if that was the only thing he accomplished, or how many others not from your district paid for that particular earmark that benefited you, or that even your individual tax rate may have been increased because of it. The only thing you recognize is that he got you something for nothing.

People fail to recognize that the Government has no income, they make no product to sell, no service to perform, nothing-nada-zilch. The only things they can do to raise money is to print it thereby lowering its value, borrow it thereby not only lowering its value but since it is borrowed from foreign interests, it puts our country's very future in jeopardy, or by stealing it from us in the form of higher taxes.

It would behoove ( Gotta love that word) us to join together, determine the needs of all, & help each other on a personal level without Government interference, not with free money, free housing, or free anything else other than education, job training with the jobs to accompany that training, with some child daycare thrown in to allow those folks to go to work that will allow those who truly want to improve their standards and those who don't to be allowed to fail & suffer the result of that laziness.

OK BOB (xkizarney)-Enough of this making sense. That kind of post during this election year will do nothing but make us think. Enough I say-for the past 45 years I was a registered Democrat and usually voted that way. Now I have been leaning towards the Republican party for the last few years and had planned to vote that way. Then you come along with your radical idea that maybe we should really try to see what is best for all and work towards that!!! I guess I better call you a commie or something so I can feel better about myself.

Thank You very much for your posts. I really wish they would get us all to think for just a minute, but I can already hear the argument against them. YOU FIRST-I AM NOT GOING TO UNLESS YOU DO FIRST-HOW DO I KNOW YOU WILL IF I DO-and the beat goes on. WCP

The thing is, I am going 1st here. I am posting the same topics in newspapers & any online sites, both Liberal & Conservative, Republican, Democrat, And Independent. I have written, phoned, and generally made a nuisance of myself to my political representatives. (I'll bet I'm on at least one watch list somewhere) I am, indeed, doing this in an effort to make a few folks start to think for themselves, to not rely on ones who have no desire for the same things they do & to rely on the only one that is truly concerned, themselves.

It's time for all to realize the Federal Government is concerned for one thing. Like Tim Taylor of Home Improvement fame, they quest for more power. That is their only desire. They do not truly care if you don't have enough to eat, a job, or a place to live other than using the promise of those things as a means to control, nor should they or anyone else. That is your responsibility & yours alone. It's time to quit whining about your station in life & to start doing something about it. Educate yourself then go out & grab that brass ring. Quit depending on others to grab it for you, they will damn sure keep it if they do.

One last saying. This one is all mine: " It is no sin to try then fail- It is only a sin to fail to try"
