I was just wondering what Matt and the other "Mods" from this site thought about the "headlines" topics that are posted daily. As I remember they were designed to lure us away from the daily grind of the message board out to the front. I was just curious if they thought they were successful with this mission or if it was a bust.

I for one can't stand the idea. There has to be a rediculous amount of Monday's Headlines's topics in the archives. I admit i read them every once in a great while but i sure don't look at them everyday. Nor do i look at the topic and head straight for the home page. The last time i posted something in one of those topics i caught grieve about it the next weekend 2 states away. So after that whole deal i gave up on the DAILY HEADLINE CONSPIRACY TO MOVE US OUT OF OUR COMFORT ZONE! JUST SAY NO[}:)][}:)][}:)]

I disagree. I read the topic daily and when an article is something I am interest in I go to the Home Page and click on the link. It's helpful to me and I prefer to keep it. I'd have missed a bunch if I hadn't read the topic. It's a convience thing for me and vote to keep it. The work the editor puts into daily is appreciated.

That whole scrolling thing is annoying. The "headlines" are OK. But the scroll makes me feel like I am watching CNN

WHen i get back from the trade show I will be working on the scoller. The easiest way is to click the small view all link below it as With-It said.

My thoughts are - if you dont like the daily updates of the headlines, dont read them. It's your loss, not mine [;)].

My link to the message board is direct so having the headlines provided here gives me the option to go see what I am interested in.

Not interest, as mentioned, do not read.

Keep em.

In all honesty, the headlines are working. Our stats show that the home page is receiving better traffic then it did a year and half ago before the content was fresh. As you may remember, for some time, the home page did not have up to date content. Now, the home page features new articles daily as well as the top two newest MCW original news articles. Checking the home page for news should be a priority, well, that is, if you want to read official news concerning this industry.

You can also sign up for the MCW email list to receive weekly e-mail newsletters. We will also send one out with new breaking news as it becomes available.

Im not saying get rid of them. I was just asking if the people who's brain child this was thought the master plan of getting more people out to the home page was successful. If I was looking for a vote i would have made this a poll.

Man, Everyone is getting a little touchy, even Matt. I was just giving my opinion, please... don't lose any sleep over it.!!

I wanted to edit this and say Matt the post above while i was typing my post. That was what i was looking for, stats

I replied on the success about 50 seconds before you posted your reply... not sure if you read it or not.

You asked for my opinion, and I replied. No offense taken [:)]

I like the headlines posted here. If it something interesting, I go over to the homepage to read it.
I am just curious with a question for Matt. How do you get the headlines? Sometimes, there is stuff that is a real far stretch for your site and other times I see articles elsewhere that is more applicable. Usually when I find these I post them to keep everyone in the loop of what is going on in PA.
It is what you learn, after you know it all, that counts.

I have been a member here for a long time. Don't post much anymore but do read a lot of topics, like a lot of people. Matt has really came along way with this site and I congratulate him for it. The only thing I think would be better is if each topic on the headlines had a link directly to the article. That might take to much work but it would be nice and easy. Thanks again Matt for all your hard work.

Clearly stated you did not like it and thought it should be gone.
