Hi Folks:

Davis Enterprises is based in the LA area. They tell me that it is not worth it for them to come up to Northern California unless the fair date is one of the larger ones. Also bear in mind that they only produce the midway at a couple of county fairs. Their mainstay is church and community fairs. They will be in Paso Robles, CA for the California MID-State Fair this year(August). This will be the second year of a 3 or 5 year contract.

Lat year they brought about 30-40 rides to the event. They were Giant Wheel, tilt, spider, round up, Wave Swinger, Zipper, Large Bumper Cars, Himalaya, their new Flying Bob, Gravatron, Super Loop, dark ride, Hanglider, Wild Mouse Roller Coaster (from steve Vandervorst). Missing from the "large ride lineup" was the Sky Diver and Paratrooper. There was the usual assortment of kiddie rides.

One final thing. At this fair, the ride prices are deceided by the fair officials. As such the rides are a lot more expensive than usual.

Best Regards,

Mike Croaro

Hi Folks:

Regarding Larry Davis's rides: At one point he had most of them for sale. But then he realized that he would have to pay such high taxes that he deceided to hold on to them. I don't know if he ever sold them. I know his daughter & son-in-law who own Helm and Sons Carnival had his Flying Bob at the 2003 Sonoma County Fair.

Best Regards,

Mike Croaro

Is it true that Davis has a Trabant in storage with the original designs? If so I wonder if it will ever run again. American Traveling Shows has a Casino out here that is fast and fun. I wish I could find an older style Trabant that operates the same way.
