We were around W of M back then. Played Lowell on the common many times. I wonder if people on this board would be surprised to know that we used to stay open all night the night before the 4th. That's right, we opened on July 3rd and didn't close until late July 4th.
You and I are the same age. Bet I've seen you somewhere.

I came into Lowell on the train and went to work for Lil and Hazel the Spud queens that had the Automatic french Fry joint and my Dad worked for them for years and his name was Ben and I just found his World of Mirth pass and picture and I have two World of Mirth books lleft as one got thown out with the papers as we had been looking through it with Harry Ekenrode as he use to be on WOM shows We worked a lot in Augusta Maine and it was owned by the guy that owned the little feed store and grocery store and I am now married to his daughter Rita and we now live here in Odessa, Florida which is 16 miles north of Tampa Remember Billy Houck and she ran the popper and it was one of those all stainless steel joints and also Maude Vanieer and her help Henry that had the speach impediment and he told a women once the he would put her titties on the tittie train as he couldnt speak right and she got mad and hit him over the head with her purse and Red that had the long range gallery and Bucky Allen and his forth thieves and Bud Solenburger and Eddie Sanan(sic) also George Rhineheart the had the show cookhouse and he had a heart attack in the donniker and died in there we also use to go to Ottawa and what a big date and on the commons in Lowell by the time we got cleaned up at night the sky was getting light as dawn set in glad I got to be part of it and I think about it ofter and Remember George Gorden and his Joints and the motordrone I see Jimmy Drew had one touring with him in Bluefield last spring and had it as a free attraction well better quit here as I'll take up the whole site gotta go to Tampa this morning

there was a machine in the middle of the joint and the potato's came down a endless conveyer chain with paddles on it but first in the back we had a peeler and then cut them into the water and then paddle cups would bring them up out of the water and drop them into the grease and then the convayer chain with the paddles would bring them out the front and across the back of the trailer we had three fryers for backup when we got busy its to bad it burnt in that warehouse fire
