Here is a short article about the Tulsa fair I read and it just kind of made me think they are looking for their own identity separate of the Oklahoma state fair. First I had seen articles over the years of people complaining of the same rides being there year after year. Now Wade has played there for a couple years and they went through with a change anyway. The only reason I could see from the outside looking in is that a lot of those same rides played Oklahoma City and they want a different look for themselves.
The article talks about how Mr. Murphy has given back over the years, but it was not much of a factor as in the decision anyway. While I have no ties to any show it just me think of times people have posted here about loyalty and now it just a business.

It's always been just a business.

That article was from June, well before the fair even issued the RFP. Their choice to not go with Wade had nothing to do with rides provided for Tulsa vs OK City.

We're working on an interview with the Tulsa State Fair regarding the new contract. As soon as they finalize things, we will be posting another article.
