On a Sedalia Mo. web page the Missouri State Fairgrounds is said to be the 3rd largest in the U.S. at 400 acres. If so does anyone know the top two?

All that was asked is 'largest state fairgrounds' in terms of acreage, developed or not was not a consideration. I don't think it matters....if the fairgrounds property is 1200 acres, then it's 1200 acres, developed or not.

The fair is very nice and is also home to some big racing entertainment through out the summer. For many years, Duquoin was home to Hot Rod Magazine's Street Machine Nationals.

Scott you have to come visit the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds, it really is an impressive lot. 2 mansions (Governor's & Mayor's) in the middle of the grounds, and it has its own bank and post office, a 1 mile race track with a 18,ooo seat grandstand, 12 lakes and a prison boot camp in the back. Camping hookups for over 1000 units.
