Hey, I'm going to replace the plexi glass bi fold pannels on my popper.
Does anyone know what type of paint is used to cover those?

I don't want to use vinyl lettering, it looks terrible at night
I want to stay with the same as I have.

I don't understand your problem but paint would look the absolute worst. Think about some translucent vinyl. Again, pictures would really help you.

WHEN WE DID THE SIGNS AT OTTERBACHER ITS DONE IN REVERSE ON THE BACK SIDE OF THE PANELS. WE SPRAYED A PAINT MASK ON, THEN CUT OUT THE LETTERS AND PAINTED THE COLOR WOTH SIGN PAINT. AFTER YOU PAINT THE COLOR ON THE LETTERS WE SPRAYED THE MASK ON AGAIN AND CUT OUT THE NEXT LETTER AND REPEATED THE PROCESS. SAME PRODUCTION APPLIES FOR PICTURES.

They make a vinyl that is translucent and is made for night time or back lit signs. Find a quality sign shop and have them order the "good stuff" and use that. We have also been experimenting with clear coating our wraps and they seem to hold up much better.

Call Bob Thompson at 602-620-1483/480-792-6677 and he can take care of your needs.

Good luck,

Steve

As far as painting plex, use Grip-Flex or preferably Lacryl by Spraylat if you can still find it. Great for second surface graphics. Lacryl thins 50-50 with lacquer thinner, Grip-Flex uses special reducers.

All Skywheels should be yeller.

Thanks for all the advise.

Gary I'll make some photos and post them tomorrow, but I can't do it before then.

Use lexan instead of plexiglass. Much stronger and easier to work with. Backlites well and looks good with paint or vinyl.

Strong but it scratches easily. Is this for a sign or windows?

spraylats number 931 529 0929 ask for al.
remember the thicker you apply the masking the easier it peels.
it goes on like water but turns into thin blue tinted rubber,
darkest color 1st.
