Can anyone tell me what can occur if you try to lay the sweeps down without removing the hollow bolts?
I have done so much, with so little, for so long,I am now qualified to do anything with nothing!

I've got a copy of the bulletin from Chance -- all they say is not following the order can cause serious structural damage and possibly personnel injury.

Judging by where they are and what they do, you can crack/warp the wings, and cause cracks/damage to the center axle. Depending on how things go, you might run into bent sweeps. It's been several years since I worked on a Century Wheel - so I'm going mainly on the paperwork I have.

Attached are the pages from the Service Bulletin from Chance regarding this issue.
