Do most people filter their oil hot or cold?

I used to always do it hot, but I would never let the help filter the oil hot.

Just wondering what folks were doing these days.

Never did it on the road, but when I worked in restaurants, I always did it hot.

If you filter it cold, it just goops up the screen. Hot is the only way, and the quickest. Not so hot to melt plastic, or cook anything, but at least 110 degrees.

Frying oil has really jumped in price the last 2 weeks.
Filtering oil every night and limiting fryer hours will be a good way to offset the prices.
Many people don't know that if you gradually heat oil up it will lead to greater longevity.

As long as my freedom fries don't taste like fish I don't care how you filter the oil.

Anyone using their old oil to burn in the diesel trucks or generators?

always hot, you can get some settlement out of it when its cold like before you fire them up, just pour it through a skimmer, but the best is to filtrate hot, and for the other question, most of the fairs we play we have a farmer or someone that reuses the oil. we have 2 guys that pay us a few bucks a jug.... every penny in the pocket counts....
