Price County Fair officials have announced that Spectrum Entertainment is no longer welcome to provide that fair's carnival attractions. The development follows the third incident in 4 years at the Price County Fair where rides malfunctioned, often injuring patrons.
THE-BEE reports that two people were injured Aug. 15 when one of the "Sizzler" ride's four sweep rods fell off, causing four of the ride's tubs to drop to the ground and hit a metal platform. Four people, ranging in age from 10 to 25, were hurt in that incident.
Last year, a more severe accident happened when the "Spyder" ride hit the ground. A man couldn't work for several months after hurting his back in that incident, and his young daughter was ejected from the ride during the same mishap.
