I purchased some game elec. components from China on ebay. In the $30 range x2. Anyone have history on customs duties on such a small purchase?

They ship via USPS via airmail, cheap, $5-$8 plus tracking numbers.

There is a Harmonized system with member countries, China and the US are members. It depends on how the items are classified what duties are involved, in this case I would not expect more then 5%. I say this because I sell and ship overseas every now and then and for the most part 5% has been it.

I looked through the Duty Rates database and came up with the HTS number 85423900 for integrated electronics and it is duty free.

The micro switches arrived today, 9 days after the auction. Perfect for the application.
Poor tracking from USPS except for the initial message that it was processed in China.
