GreenHelp,

Sadly the fellow that wrote this original post passed away a few years ago, however I would think he would appreciate us still discussing it. I remember those rides as well, before I saw the Tracker for the first time I thought it might be a TriStar inside the dome, but come to find out that it was the Trabant. Still, interesting ride with all the lights and such along with the Mind Scrambler. Not sure if you knew or not but Reithoffer had a Scrambler in the dark ride for a while on the road. Can't remember the name, but was about the same set-up with music and lights. I believe that Scrambler is still on the road with them, but no longer covered.

I have mentioned it before, but the old Opryland Park that was in Nashville had an indoor ride like this. I want to say it was a Calypso-type, not a Scrambler, but I never got a photo of it (only saw it once). Loud music, strobe lights, laser lights, fog machine, had a Rock and Roll theme. This was twenty years ago.

We had a discussion a while back about these types of rides..(NOT CRITICIZING ,JUST SHARING INFO!)...LOL[:D]

When I was a kid they had an indoor Scramble(domed type) at Storytown in Lake George or Queensbury N.Y....It was very cool..The ride lights would go dark as the ride started, then the light show would start along with the song Magical Mystery Tour,blaring..

I believe CNY Chris said the name of it was Chippys Magical tour or something like that as the park mascot was a chipmonk..I must have rode that thing 10 times one day.....Got off and right back in line...This would have been late 60s early 70s and the park is now upgraded to quite the tourest attraction
http://delgrossos.com/odysa2.html  isn't this an old Caterpillar? it's in the dark in a dome shaped building at DelGrossos with really loud music.
Also Knoebels has something similar they call the Cosmotron.

Both just give me a headache - all that circling and the loud music.
At Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, MO they have a indoors wipeout with all sorts of themeing and loud music and whatnot. It's alittle more than the traditional stick a flat ride indoors and play loud music and have some cheap club lighting, but it's pretty good. Others that come to mind usually involve scramblers. Conneaut Lake Park used to have The Ultimate Trip which was just that, a scrambler in the dark with lazers and whatnot, until the roof of the building collapsed destroying everything. Also one park in Seaside, NJ, I think Casino Pier has a similar indoor scrambler with fog, light effects and they blast heavy metal.
Sounds like this was a while back Ben, Im almost bettin' these rides were just your regular Trabant and Scrambler that an owner/operator thought "Huh, bet people will think its more interesting in the dark, and the tents were setup after market.

But after being scared by lawsuits from people tripping on things from entirely different situations these "owner/operators" goit smart and stopped tricking the public into thinking it was a different ride,

I mean, even if no law suits came from the situation, these people still saw potential for hazardous (how the heck is that spelled?) conditions.

I remember back in the late 80's into the early 90's at the Myrtle Beach Pavilion, they had the Sky Tracker. Some of you here may remember it, it was a Trabant that was in the dark with lights & lasers. I remember when people came out of the exit door, i could see the smoke from the smoke machine and the Trabant they used had police car lights in the very center of the ride that revolved around. Is there another one of these in the states going now days, or have they all disappeared now? There are also very few Mind Scramblers left...an Eli Bridge Scrambler in a tent running in pitch black dark almost with lights & lasers/music. I've ridden a Mind Scrambler, and loved it, but have never ridden a Sky Tracker...a Trabant in pitch black dark in a tent with loud music & lasers.
