Nothing was said about troops in the middle east. We have to win in those battles but we don't need big bases in Germany and Japan. Apparrently you haven't read my posts on the middle east.

The point I was trying to make was excessive wasteful government spending where it was used primarily to buy votes. Look at the earmarks. If we had remained on the gold standard and controlled the rate of government growth we'd be in far better shape. When are we going to collect the money owed to us for WWII?

As for job loss, we are losing them anyway. Jobs and money are pouring out of the country now with China and the Saudis buying our debt. Getting off foriegn oil, strengthing the dollar will start a turn around. Beacause the real answer is alternative energy and we aren't there yet we need to drill our own oil until we get there. Keep the money here.
