I found info on it a while back on Victor Canfield's patent page.

There's ton's of links there, it'll take you to the U.S. patent office files, to view the images you have to follow the directions & download software for viewing the images. I've printed designs & drawings for the F.C, the Hrubetz Meteor, most of Eyerly's rides & more. You can spend countless hours on this site & get all sorts of info.
All Skywheels should be yeller.
The one at <=Kennywood=< at least also has an airbag and a shock absorber under each tub between the sweep and the tub. The ride is actually more violent coming off the top of the ramp than it is hitting the track at the bottom.

Flying Coaster, so those snubbers are hydraulic? I suppose it makes sense, but I always expected that they were pneumatic.

Someone once told me that the Flying Coaster (designed by Norman Bartlett and built by Aeroaffiliates) was constructed on a modified Fly-O-Plane center. I can believe that, given that the original drive system used an Eyerly-style countershaft with belt drive running a pair of Eyerly-style half-differentials, and, again in Eyerly style, those half-differentials had a large drive chain wrapped around them and around the center column to run the ride. I never understood why it had two drive pinions.

Last season, Kennywood updated theirs with a pair of electric VFD motors which drive the pinions directly, eliminating the differentials and the counter-shaft entirely, and also giving the ride a more precise speed control and braking profile. It still uses the ramp as the functional holding brake, though.

Wonder why the new updated one isn't as thrilling look as the older one? lol I'd rather ride the old one, i mean, look, that's quite a leap from that ramp to the track. lol I didn't know the ride actually "jumped" into the air and soared to the track below, interesting stuff.

The cars each had a hydraulic "snubber" attached from the sweep to the center post. This was basically a hydraulic cylinder that had a check valve that would open fully when the car abruptly went up the ramp, then closed when gravity took over & only let a limited amount of fluid flow back the other way until the car landed gently on the track. This constant motion also produced heat, so the cylinders had heatsink fins around them to dissipate the heat buildup.

Here's a good shot of Kennywoods F.C. called the "Kangaroo" That shows the snubbers.

It is the updated version of the old Flying Coaster. Kennywood Park in Pittsburgh has the only operating original one I know of in the US. I believe it is called the Kangaroo. Main difference is the speed (old one is faster) and the car does leave the track at the top of the lift. On the new Majestic one, it does not leave the track.

there are 2 photos in that Kennywood album of the ride.
That ride looks like that old ride during the 70's/80's, an updated version of it. The Flying Coaster was it? or Kangaroo Coaster, something like that.

note also the majestic midways has other items for sale too.

Very cool. He took his Moby Dick to the Minnesota State Fair.

Just a observation- if there is already a brand new ride by Majestic on the used market, whats to say about the ride? lol. I hope theyre not following in the same footsteps as a few other US manufacturers. First the XScream and now (maybe) the Catch N Air...
