Founded in 1995, New Jersey-based Rides-4-U, Inc is one of the largest used ride brokers in the country. Not only serving as a ride broker, the company is known as a one-stop-shop for all its customer's ride needs and supplies from new to used, selling and reselling rides to carnivals, parks and shopping centers not only in the U.S., but also all over the world.
With one of the largest product lines in the industry, the business specializes in everything from kiddie rides to larger thrill rides such as roller coasters, and also offers high-tech, high-quality color changing LED light systems. In keeping with its philosophy of servicing the customer throughout their purchase experience, Rides-4-U also carries an inventory of parts and provides mechanical support and services to its clients.
In addition to ride parts, the company also stocks light caps, bulbs and LED replacements. In recent years, the company has transformed many wheels and other large ride projects into an amazing light show that can be almost as thrilling as the ride itself.
Rides-4-U represents SBF and Visa International; the company also works with KMG products as well as ride manufacturer Sansei Technologies. “We can frame up at just about any carnival, and offer everything from kiddie rides to major spectacular rides,” shares business owner Len Soled. “We take more of a turnkey approach to selling rides, which is a big plus for our customers. We offer tech support, installation and framing and have been in business for 25 years. We are well respected in the market and we are always looking for ways we can develop new products with manufacturers.”
Soled says that there are large numbers of orders for used equipment currently from carnivals, and he wants his company to continue to be at the forefront of providing quality kiddie, family and thrill rides to those carnivals who actively seek out the used ride market.
A big part of how his company stays at the top of its game comes down to his employees. Rides-4-U has excellent customer service, and maintains professionals on staff who work diligently to keep relationships with customers before, during and after the sale is made. Staff members are also on hand to help customers determine the right type of ride solutions for their businesses.
Soled said trade shows are still a great opportunity to get the word out about what a company can offer. Participating in a trade show is a fantastic avenue for showcasing some of the more exciting rides a business has available and perhaps most importantly, it gets him face time with many of the carnival operators.
At the 2019 Gibtown Extravaganza, Rides-4-U plans to display a Mini Break Dance – one of its hottest newest attractions – built by SBF/Visa. Soled says that this particular ride has already been purchased and will be going to Scott Inners of Majestic Midways. Rides-4-U sold its first Mini Break Dance at the IAAPA Trade Show to Eric Bates of Bates Brothers Amusement Co.
Soled is very enthusiastic about the new ride. “The Mini Break Dance is great because it's a thrill ride for all ages,” he shares. “It has a low height restriction of 31 inches, and can be accessed by riders ages three and older. It's a great family piece for all ages, and it will be coming to the trade show on a 28-foot-long pup trailer. The ride can be set up in two hours and torn down in an hour and a half. It is also very portable, and it comes with an awesome LED light package.”
In addition to the Mini Break Dance, Rides-4-U will also showcase several other attractions at the Gibtown Trade Show. These will include a Mini Pirate Ship, which has been purchased by Skelly's Amusements; and an S&S/Wisdom Frog Hopper kiddie ride that does not yet have a buyer. Additionally, there will be a Groovy Bus on display, which has been sold to Bill Johnson of Fantasy Amusements. With so much equipment Rides 4 U's booth will once again be a center of activity at the trade show.
“We are looking forward to the trade show,” Soled says. “It has always been a good show for the business.”
