KMG announced a new thrill ride named "XLR8" (accelerate). The ride will make its world premier at the EAS Show in Rome. KMG bills the piece as a major ride for a small budget. The "XLR8" holds 16 persons and has high capacity compared to the investment, the company claims. It is billed as easy to operate from set up to tear down. The ride takes 2 people just 1.5 hours to erect. The XLR8 has one centre rotation with 8 arms holding a two passenger gondola. Passengers experience high velocity with extremely fast acceleration and deceleration. The extreme acceleration will give the passengers the feeling they are launched with a boost as if from a rocket. Deceleration gives riders the opposite effect! During the ride the operator can adapt speed and acceleration as many times as required. The ride achieves speeds of approximately 40 miles/hr and will come to a stand still in a half rotation. The ride travels on one semi-trailer with a fold-down platform. It has open suspended seats which are mounted at the end of each arm and can rotate sideways. KMG said the the "XLR8" can be ordered with many options and has a low base price.
