Sacramento - Unlimited ride wristbands have always been a favorite for California State fairgoers of all ages, but they have only been available for purchase on Fridays and Labor Day. Now, fairgoers can select this pricing option every day of the fair thanks to a new promotion with Coca-Cola. The California State Fair and Coca-Cola put together an exciting new promotion for ride wristbands. Wristband coupons are available on specially marked 12-packs of Coca-Cola available at Northern California grocery stores and retail outlets, after Aug. 8. With the coupon, fairgoers can purchase unlimited ride wristbands for just $30 Monday-Friday (buy till 8 p.m. ride till 11 p.m.) or $35 Saturday and Sunday (buy till 4 p.m. ride till 7 p.m.) Fridays and Labor Day will continue to be regular carnival wristband days with or without a coupon. Wristbands are $30 and allow unlimited carnival rides until 11 p.m. on the day they are purchased. Buy till 8 p.m., ride till 11 p.m. "We've been doing it for a couple of years at the L.A. County Fair with great success", said Tony Fiori, Marketing Director of Ray Cammack Shows, the carnival midway provider for the fair. The show will have 60 rides at the fair including the new Fabbri Sky Flyer swing ride. With customers having to bring the coupon to the fair in order to buy the wristband, the promotion is targeted in scope and also in days and hours. "It helps drive people to the event at specific days and times", added Fiori. The fair has previously announced it would be returning to an 18-day format by opening both Mondays of the event after shortening the fair to 16 days in 2007. Although daily attendance increased, the fair believed the shortened format was not enough time for families to experience all the fair has to offer. "By returning to an 18-day consecutive format, we're providing more opportunity for people to enjoy everything the State Fair has to offer in a time frame that works for our business partners as well", said Norb Bartosik, State Fair CEO and General Manager.
