New Executive Director for Georgia National Fair
ATLANTA - Today Governor Perdue named Ransom Moore as the next Executive Director of the Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter in Perry. "Ransom Moore is a devoted employee to the state of Georgia," said Governor Sonny Perdue. "He brings a wealth of experience, and I am confident that he will be a great asset to Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter."
Moore replaces Mike Froehlich who left to take the newly created fair manager job at the York Fair after 16 years in Perry. Prior to his post at the GNF, Froehlich worked at the Ohio Stat Fair for 13 years.
Moore has been Chief Operating Officer of the event since 1997. Before coming to the fair, Moore worked for the Georgia General Assembly as the FacilitiesManager.
Moore and his wife Carlene have three children. He also serves as vice-chairman of the Houston County Planning and Zoning Commission.
"The Authority and I are very excited. Randy has been with the Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter for 11 years," said James E. Sutherland, Chairman of the Georgia Agricultural Exposition Authority. "We are behind him and look forward to working with him to ensure the continued success of the facility."
The Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter, opened in 1990, is a state-owned, multipurpose 1,100+ acre rental complex. The site hosts events year-round. It is specially designed for meetings, conferences, livestock and horse shows, concerts, rodeos, RV rallies, trade shows, and sporting events.
