KMG Official Statement on Fireball Ride Accident
Early model Fire Ball rides currently shut down
In light of the recent Fireball accident at the Ohio State Fair, manufacturer KMG has issued the following statement, shutting down Fireball-type rides up to serial #40. Later generation Fireball rides and Freak Out rides are not affected.
Pieter Theunisz of KMG said his thoughts are with the Vivona family, owners of Amusements of America. Speaking of the accident, Theunisz said he was unable to provide much additional information because the ride is currently the subject of investigation by the Ohio State Police. "At the moment, KMG's technical staff and owner have no access. Therefore, KMG is awaiting the official report from the Ohio State inspector. Until then we will instruct all Fire Ball owners and/or operators and Move It owners/operators to cease operation of the ride."
