Bub,

I was in NC and the convention was very quiet. A few talks on some general topics, E. coli prevention being one of the bigger subjects. A of A was not present but saw Drew, Strates, Wade, Smokey Mountain, Reithoffer, Big Rock, Playworld, Powers, Inners, Harlan Bast and maybe one or two others. Jimmy Strates had his new bride Monica with him, Big Rock is growing and trying to add to the route, nothing much else really seemed to be going on. There was a rumor a show being sold but didn't see any hard evidence.

reithoffer was there with Patty, Jack, Craig and Wilbur manning the room as was a rep for Dreamland and ronnnie turner with fun rides. Holmes-McBride winners were Debbie Powers from the associates/carnival and myself from the fair industry. MCW editor was keeping a low profile during the convention working out and trying to find a ping pong table. lol

Wisconsin was the same way, quiet and not much going on but some fairs looking for a new carnival. Talked with many shows & fairs and most had good year with some cost up but thats normal. Just lots of Ping Pong going on so the MCW editor was at the wrong convention.

KY was up in attendance, delegate wise and also the trade show was one of the largest in history. Shows at the meeting included Myers, Casey's Rides, Gene O' Rides, Swyear Amusements, Funtime Carnival, Murray Brothers, Carnival Time, Paradise Amusements, Kissel Entertainment and maybe one or two more. I can remember back when there'd be 14-16 shows attend the meeting. Didn't any real noteworthy news. Kissel hosted a 40th anniversary party for their fairs one evening which appeared to be well attended just from the walk by.

Attended the MN convention. Gopher State, Goldstar, Merriam, Armstrong, Magel, Stipe, Midwest Rides, Amusement Attractions and J & K were on hand.

Crescent City was absent. So was All American (Mike Phillips/Mark Popovich). Rumor has it Mark has pulled out of that sale and none of Mike's fairs believe him when Mike says he'll be out with a show worth anything. So most of them are shopping.

No HUGE news. Seems like everybody else has picked up Skip Reinke's stuff. He has just one or two fairs.

Mike Featherston had one of his Puppy Roll rides on hand. Looked like a nice update to the concept.
