I've never been "with it", just been an interested observer of carnivals for 50 years.

yep, sure glad it didn't end up in a junk yard or rusting away. Just wished someone could have saved the Calypso as well.

I remember the Calypso from the Long Beach Pike, it was pretty bad-a**
I'm surprised a newer version of the Toboggan hasn't come out. With a faster pull-up chain, another tub or two and better controls that thing could win money. |

Saw on MCW's facebook page that the Space Wheels are going up at the North Georgia State fair, heck of spot to start out with that ride, really nice fair and a lot of big iron in the there with the Wild Cat and one of the longest Chairlifts I have ever seen.

You know I watched a video on Drew's FB page and the folks taking the video stated it was very smooth and a lot slower (as Drew said he would do). They seemed to like it, just an enjoyable ride, maybe that's why Sky Wheels didn't win too much money, to fast, slow it down and make it more of a family ride and might do better.
I know in the video looked all the tubs were full and long line to ride.

Or is it possible to run one side faster, and the other side slower, and display signs that way so you could choose the kind of ride you get? |

I don’t know, trying to run one slow and one fast seems like it would be a nightmare to me.
It’s a thrill ride. If they just want to see the sites let them ride the giant wheel.. |
