Teresa Rimes is looking forward to "one of our best years" for exhibitors and new features during the annual IISA Trade Show and Extravaganza. The event, held February 7 - 11 at the show grounds in Gibsonton, FL is the largest trade show of its kinds for the carnival industry. In fact, there will be over 300 exhibitors on display at the show this year including approximately 15 new exhibitors. Elite Risk Insurance, CMD Enterprises, Core Cashless Systems, trailer Logic, Panda Promotions, Lazer Mazers, Fair Time Signs and Big Sports Stuff are just a sampling of the new exhibitors making an appearance. "We are very happy with our new exhibitors", Rimes gushed. From new LED lighting companies to promotions and jewelry, there will be plenty new to see and do at the Extravaganza in 2012. Between trade shows, the club has been busy making improvements under the leadership of Beau Pugh. The Tiki Hut roof addition is just one important area of improvement to the grounds. The 2012 show will also see the grand opening of the Museum of The American Carnival on February 7th. Long a dream of many industry members, the museum is nearing opening thanks to the support of the Museum Foundation, the University of South Florida and many generous donors. The museum will open with over 200 exhibits, including a 1950 carousel, donated by Fredricksen Industries, a Ferris Wheel from the Wheelock family and dozens of other wagons, exhibits and memorabilia. Visitors to the museum are being asked for a $5 donation to support the museum. Donations to the museum fund are also greatly appreciated. The club is selling a limited edition of Carnivalopoly, only 300 are left, for $50 with all profits going to the museum. The trade show is not only a place to do business but also an opportunity to attend informative seminars and talks by industry experts. 2012,s slate has several important topics including an overview of the very important labor changes in 2012. The workshops will include audio/video presentations, handouts as well as round table discussions of some of the challenges affecting every aspect of the carnival business. All seminars are located in the Carousel Pavilion. The schedule is as follows: Tuesday, February 7, 2012 • 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
